CTHS 2027–2028 Application Information for Current 8th Graders

Career Tech High School is excited to announce that the application process is now open for current 8th grade students interested in attending CTHS next school year! The application window will be open from Wednesday, October 14 through Friday, December 18. During October and November, CTHS representatives will visit all Washington County School District middle schools to share information about our school, pathways, and programs with 8th grade students. CTHS will also host multiple evening presentations and tours of the school for any parents and students who wish to attend.

What are the requirements to apply?

As part of the application process, All students will be asked to submit the following documentation.

A three minute (or shorter) video of themselves that answers the following questions.
- Why do you want to attend Career Tech High School?
- Which pathways are you applying for (Students may apply for two pathways)
- What background and experience you may have in the pathways you are applying for at CTHS?
- What other things would you like the administration and faculty at CTHS to know about you?
- Note: A common problem with videos in the past was that the speaker could not be understood. Please be sure that the sound on your video is loud enough that the speaker can be heard clearly.
The correct email address of a current teacher who CTHS can contact for a reference.

Out of district students will also be required to submit the following additional documentation from their current schools to the CTHS counseling office by January 11, 2027.

A transcript showing 1st semester grades for the 2026-2027 school year
An attendance report for the 1st semester of the 2026-2027 school year.

Out of district applications that do not have this documentation submitted by the January 12th deadline will not be considered.

CTHS will also host multiple evening presentations and tours of the school for any parents and students who wish to attend. The full presentation schedule can be viewed by clicking on the black button. Additional presentations may be added to the schedule in the near future.

2026 CTHS Presentation Schedule

The application window will remain open from October 14 – December 18. During the application window, representatives from CTHS will present information about CTHS to 8th grade students at every district middle school and some private/charter schools.

One for current Washington County School District students (i.e., in-district)
One for students not currently enrolled in WCSD (including those from private, charter, or other schools, i.e., out of district)
